Ungaro, Vincent (23.5.1919-6.4.1996)AuthorBorn at Qomni, Ungaro studied at St Albert Central School and St Mary's Training College Strawber, v, Holton, UK. For a time he served as head of Siggiewi primary school. During World War 11, Ungaro served as bombardier with the 10th Light Anti-Aircraft Battery, RMA. Between 1957 and 1958 he was lecturer of Maltese at St Michael's Training College. In 19958 he emigrated to London and and was employed as teacher of mathematics at the Catholic School in South Londn an later master at Bishop Thomas Grant comprehensive school in London. In 1964 he read for a B.Sc. (Econon.) at the London University. For several years Ungaro broadcast a programme called Din Hija Londra on the BBC. Ungaro wrote essays, novels, radioplays, and comedies and translated various literary works. He was member of the Ghaqda Letterarja Maltija and the Akkademja tal-Malti. Ungaro published two books of verses: Mill-Milja ta' Qalbi (1956) and Gabra ta' Poeziji (1956). He died in London. Source: Maltese Biographies of the Twentieth Century (1997), editors Michael J.
