Testa, Lorraine Marie (1956-)EducationalistBorn in Melbourne, Australia, Testa was educated at Marian College and Chisolm College. She was awarded a diploma in teaching from the Australian Catholic University, Melbourne (1977), and she also graduated in religious studies from the same university (1984). She obtained a diploma of TESOE (Teaching English to Students Other than English) from the University of South Australia in 1993. Testa started her teaching career at St Bernardette's primary school, North Sunshine in 1978. In 1981 she joined the Congregation of the Augustinian Sisters, Servant of Jesus and Mary and travelled to Rome to commence her novitiate. After she returned to Melbourne in 1983, she resumed her studies. Between 1988 and 1989 she taught at St Monica's School, Birkirkara. In 1989 Testa resumed her duties as a teacher at St Bernardette's primary school, North Sunshine and in 1991 was appointed school principal. For her services rendered to education amongst the Maltese community, Testa was awarded the Manoel De Vilhena Medal in 1994.
