A Maltese living in Melbourne, Pulo commenced his music studies under his father Joseph. He studied classical guitar at the Tony Andrios School of Music and studied theory harmony, and composition under Harold Badger. He pursued further studies with Nasico Yepes and Ellis Artz, both international classical guitarists.

In 1967 Pulo started playing in several bands and ensembles in Melbourne and, since 1975 he has been tutor for guitar and theory classes in several schools.

Pulo worked as a guitarist, at Crystal Clear Studios in South Melbourne and with Mix Master Studios at Caulfield (1983-86). In 1980 he established and managed Harmonic 63 Recording Studios at West Melbourne and since 1994 he has been resident musician at the International Hilton on the Park,Melbourne. He is also a freelance musician, arranger, composer, and performer.

Pulo won the 'New Faces' composition, on, Australia Channel 9 television network (197172) and also appeared in several shows on Australian television. He was composer and musical director for 'Is-Sonata ta' I-Emigrant' presented by the Maltese Performing Arts, Dallas Brooks Hall, Melbourne Arts in 1986, and was the arranger and musical director for 'The Festival of Maltese Song', broadcast by SBS televsion in 1986. Pulo performed several live guitar concerts for Community Radio Station 3RRR in 1975. Since 1991 he has broadcast live musical Programmes on different radio stations. He has also taken part in several theatrical performances including 'Marv Spiteri Grand Show' (1979), 'Fr- Depiro Show' (1983), and 'Fr David Azzopardi Show I (1983 and 1988)- He was composer, musical director, and arranger for other theatrical shows for Maltese migrants.
