Forace Joseph (7.10.1925-)

Diplomat

Born in Valletta, Forace emigrated to Australia in and lived in Gilmore, Canberra. He was commissioner for Malta in Australia (September1971 - June 1972) and in June 1992 was appointed ambassador for China and Korea. In 1978 he was concurrently nominated ambassador to Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, UA Emirates, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, and Tunisia. He resigned for personal reasons in 1979.

Forace held various positions within the Maltese community, particularly with the Phoenician Club, the Maltese Guild of Australia, and more recently, with the Maltese Association in Canberra and Queanbeyan.

Forace is member of the Order of St John of Jerusalem (Knight of Malta) and in 1996 was awarded the medal in the general division of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to the Maltese community. Forace is married to Frances Troisi.
