Camilleri, Arthur P. (27.6.1927-14.1.1995)

Gynaecologist

Born in Sliema, Camilleri as educated at the Lyceum (1937-42) and the RUM were he qualified MD in 1949. He subsequently continued his postgraduate training in Liverpool and Sussex ana was successful in qualifying as DCII (1954), D. Obst. RCOG (1§54), and MRCOG (1961). He was elected a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gyna,ecologists in 1969.

Camilleri was appointed senior consultant and professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at St Luke's Hospital and the RUM in 1965. He also served as dean of the faculty of medicine and surgery. He wrote a number of scientific publications in his field and was a member of a number of international associations.[After the doctor's diaspora in the 1980s until his death, he was as consultant obstetricain and gynaecologist at Southampton, UK.]

Camilleri was married to Cora Agius-Ferrante.
