Abela, Don Leonardi (1541-1605)Bishop of SidoniaBorn at Imdina, he studied Canon Law in Malta. He was elected Bishop of Sidonia in Asia Minor (1578), at the time of the Nestoriaj heresy about the Incarnation of Christ. He visited various provinces in Syria and Egypt. He wrote a number of publications relating to the Nunciature. He died in May 1605.
