The Maltese in Australia: Family relationships and the second generationAuthor: Henry Briffa ConclusionI have consulted with Maltese health and welfare workers about what they see to be the issues in the Maltese family in Australia. This work involves an attempt to think about one of the themes in the story and its meaning. My present hypothesis is that the myth of the Maltese 'adapting easily' to the Australian way of life may have significantly impacted upon the Maltese community in Australia, and in particular on the second generation.
