Ethnicity and adjustment: a comparative study of Maltese- and Anglo-Australian adolescents

Author: Victoria Borg

Conclusion

In conclusion, this study revealed that factors, such as parent-child conflicts, self-esteem and stress, can be a problem with regard to the adjustment of Maltese adolescents. Of particular interest is the finding of the relationship between parent-child conflict, self-esteem, stress and Maltese identification. These relationships highlight the need to foster Maltese culture among the Maltese adolescents for the benefit of their psychological well-being and adjustment.
