The Maltese Community Council of South Australia

The Maltese Community Council of South Australia is an umbrella body consisting of representatives of Maltese societies established and operating in South Australia for the benefit of the Maltese Community.

The Council meets on a monthly basis and co-ordinates the functions and activities of the member societies.

In 1992 the Council organised the 50th anniversary of the awarding of the George Cross to the Maltese Islands and in conjunction with the Maltese RSL erected a memorial at Prospect Reserve to commemorate the fallen servicemen and servicewomen and civilians during World Wars I and II.

In 1993 the Council held a National Conference of the Federation of Maltese Community Councils of Australia. Delegates from interstate attended the Conference.
