The Most Common Surnames In GozoA total of 81 different surnames were analysed. Surnames with a very low frequency (less than 20) were ignored for the purpose of this analysis. The frequency of the commonest surnames (i.e. those with a frequency of 300 or more) are tabulated (table 3.1). These 22 surnames constitute over 60% of all surnames analysed. The first 4 surnames (Vella, Attard, Camilleri, Grech) each have a frequency of 800 or more, and between them make up 17.4% of all surnames. The top 6 surnames account for 23.6% of all surnames.
